Why is Donate the Tickets.com, LLC a “for profit” limited liability company?
The significant investment required to achieve DTT’s scale as a nationwide organization collecting and redistributing tickets for hundreds of events annually requires a significant investment beyond the means of the founders. In order to secure this type of financing, investors expect a return on their investment. The structure chosen for DTT is the best structure for quickly raising the capital necessary for DTT to achieve its potential and then distribute any benefits back to charity.

Does DTT expect to produce significant benefits for non-profit organizations?

The potential is very significant. For example, if DTT liquidates 100,000 tickets, with average proceeds of $50 per ticket, charities will receive close to $5,000,000.

Will ticket donors receive charitable contribution deductions?

DTT will provide receipts reflecting that the proceeds from the sale of the tickets were sent to the non-profit organizations specified by the donors. When DTT delivers actual tickets to designated non-profit organizations, receipts for the donation of the tickets will be provided. For ticket donors who itemize their deductions, the donated value will be includable as an itemized deduction.

Does DTT take any fees or commissions?

Yes, to be able to maintain our operations, DTT takes a ticket-handling fee of $5 per ticket. For tickets that are liquidated, an additional 5% of the proceeds will be deducted from the amount being donated to charity. For further explanation, please refer to our Terms of Use.

Will DTT donate a portion of its profits to non-profit organizations?

If DTT earns profits, at least ten percent will be donated to non-profit organizations.

What is the founders’ goal in forming DTT?

The founders have both enjoyed successful professional and personal lives. They have always been involved in service to their church and other non-profit organizations, and recognize a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society. Donate the Tickets is another opportunity to do good for both non-profit organizations and donors.

Is DTT a ticket broker?

DTT will make its best efforts to identify the most efficient means to liquidate or deliver tickets for the benefit of non-profit organizations. In all aspects of these ticket related activities, DTT acts as the agent of ticket holders, and is dedicated to making sure every ticket becomes a meaningful donation. DTT is not a ticket broker but will engage the services of ticket brokers on behalf of ticket holders.
